Your new PC should have an ethernet connector. Most of the time all you have to do is connect as the DSL modem handles everything. Once in awhile you have to load software on your system - the same stuff you loaded when you first got DSL. If you are using a router as well and are bridging then the router is handling the connection - again you need not do anything other than connect the cable.

You do not need to install anything except connect your DSL modem to the phone outlet and to your desktop wifi card. Since you are purchasing a new PC, all of the necessary components for internet access would probably be installed. You just need to connect the dsl modem to yor system. When you boot up your system, most likely, the OS will pick up the connection. Good luck.

If your new pc does not have a card or integrated plug in you will need to get a new one, better than pulling the old one and why add junk to your new pc. Dsl is broadband and several computers can operate at the same time with little loss of speed, consider networking them.

But you will also have to go through the internet connection wizard, to set up the service you will already be paying for. Once you turn on your new PC and having attacted the cable to the NIC connector, it will pop up in the setup, there is new hardware, if not if your upgrading to Vista, there is again a simple internet setup.
Just remember you already have exsisting service so, just follow the steps, do not set up a new account, and choose in the frame you connect by a LAN line, you my have to do some adjusting with your address book and some of the setting in IE.
Also to if your using Outlook or Outlook Express, you can copy your address book to disk and import it to the new system, but if your using either Hotmail, Yahoo Mail or Firefox Mail.

No. DSL comes with a MODEM. You just run the Ethernet cable from the DSL MODEM to your computer's Ethernet card.

You need to make sure the network card on your new PC is set up similarly to the one in your current PC.
Specifically, you may need to grab these parts of its configuration and apply them to the new card:
* IP Address
* DNS server(s)
* Gateway address (usually the LAN address of your DSL modem or your router / switch).
If your network card is currently set up to use DHCP, you may just be able to plug the new PC in and it may be able to acquire its network configuration from the router or modem.
