Isn’t it obvious that these brave persons are being coerced into saying these things. What would Iran gain from this? Apart from lieing to its own people.

It's ok. SInce Iran HAS to let them go sooner or later (If it wants to avoid a war, that is), don't be surprised if the Service Personnel change their speech once they return safely to British soil.

For propaganda purposes old chap. This is the same thing the Viet Cong did to our American POWS. They know they are wrong but they must show the world the captives agree with them. Under torture most people will say just about anything they are forced to. I say its time to go get the hostages and show Iran they are nothing but a nickel s..t country to be stepped on when they try to play in the big league.

Iran currently is under pressure from US/UK and the world community in general to discontinue its nuclear program which it claims is for peaceful purposes like their energy needs etc. US being the most vehement opposer of this claim avers that Iran is an irresponsible state sponsor of terrorism and should not be allowed to possess nuclear knowhow lest they develop WMDs and misuse it.

So in all this vitiated atmosphere, Iran latched on to an opportunity to make UK which is a staunch ally of the USA look bad and claims the British sailors trespassed into their territorial waters and considering trying them for espionage which in Iran, may be punishable by death. This is an attempt to embarrass the British.

definite. As considered above there is a few thing called Forces mark downs, slightly e book giving archives of the businesses that provide mark downs. there is also a million ingredient extra. If serving remote places the serviceman can purchase vehicles at tax-free expenses (i purchased a Fiesta Zetec-S for 7K!!!), I have also received pcs from Dell at tax-free expenses. You sources suggested the NAAFI, which isn't affordable, yet in Germany I had get entry to to the yank PX that is!! One very last ingredient, in Germany there is not any requirement to pay the German version of VAT on some thing above €50. Petrol is rationed to you at tax-free expenses as well. So an ordinary answer on your question is definite, yet you have to be interior the right position!!

This is what weak coutries with nut jobs running them do. They know it will piss off Americans and make them feel be-littled because there is nothing they can do. It's all about power and trying to make them look like they are in control. No different when they behead someone on TV. It is simply to anger Americans and their Allies. It's obivous they are cowards but they do it just to anger Americans. These scum care nothing about human life. If the U.S. and their Allies could just blow the piss out of them without all the "rules" they are forced to follow to keep the liberal population happy these piss ant little countries would not be so out of line. END OF STORY!!

They are trying to make themselves look strong and the Brits look bad. It is largely for domestic consumption. Ahmadinejad often gets booed; he's not popular with the people of Iran. By making up a phony offense by the West, he can distract Iranians from their dissatisfaction with his regime. It makes him look stronger in the international community as well.

They don't want to concede that they (The Iranians) are in the wrong, it's about pride and politics. They don't want the Iranian people and the world who watch it on Arabic television to see that they were in the wrong because animosity will grow between the people and their government, and the world and Iran.

For propaganda purposes, of course. The Iranians are clearly preparing the ground for whatever demands they intend to make to release their hostages, and part of that is presenting them as intruders in their territorial waters to build up sympathy for their case.
