Honestly? No I can not. I believe the government is fat, bloated and drunk with it's own power. We are seeing some of the worst fears of the Founding Fathers played out in the form of an ever expanding power grab from the states. States Rights are almost none existent now, with the Fed using the courts to strike down any law they do not like as unconstitutional.
Then you take into account Representatives who exempt themselves from the laws they create, vote themselves pay raises whenever they choose. Police themselves with lower standards than what they impose on the general society. Act irresponsibly with the public purse etc. etc. and generally ignore the will of the people. The sad part is that it doesn't really matter who is in power because both sides are guilty of the same behavior. The only thing that changes is the Special Interest groups they choose to pander to. Simply put the honest, productive, law abiding citizens of this country are not now and never will get an even break from the organized corruption that is the United States government.

To be totally honest, no and yes, but mostly no. I think they care a little about us, but they care so much about their own groups that they help themselves out first, and common Americans aren't top priority, which I think is wrong because we make up America. America isn't a perfect nation, and I wish we would be more of a democracy and let the people have a little more power, but if the people rule, and the leaders don't rule, then we would be a lawless place. There's not much American people can do except revolt, and they aren't going to do that, because we aren't in a dire place. We still have freedom, we still have comfort and safety. Our government would have to completely stop caring or taking care of the American people before a revolt could possibly happen. I'm not that knowledgeable at politics, but I want to know more, and I can see the basics in the roles of American people and American gov't. I hope that helps or at least supports what you're saying. Thanks for reading.

Yes, they seemed concerned to keep us healthy and working to pay taxes. I not sure it as much the government as it is big corporations in real control. But, I really not care, nothing I can do.
I have traveled all over America and lived in many States. We have nice roads to travel (Debatable, but, they really not that bad, if we are real). We have awesome waterways and the Locks at Dams even a flat bottom fishing boat is treated as any-other and can go through. We have the U.S. Coast Guard that have saved numerous lives at sea. The amount of money involved in saving a life is hard to believe, but, they do it best as Mother Nature allow. I know some States have a Courtesy Patrol. It a couple of guys/gals in a pickup and they have Gas, Used Tires and a few other things to help people on the side of the road at no charge. I could list 1,000 positives, and I can probably list as many Negatives. I can not say our government has our best interest at heart, but, in the course of serving their best interest we have a pretty nice country to live in. I guess we need to be optimistic as many of the benefits we pay for through taxes we not see, until we need them. Many we not see even when we use them.

If there is not enough "care" to go around, the fault is in the people not in the government. People have choices to go to work for the federal government instead of private sector if they think they can do a better job. People can switch the House of Representatives every two years, the President every four years and Senators in six years.
In a way, criticizing government is like spitting in the sky since we are responsible for bunch of elected officials who are self serving, greedy and dishonest.
No one can meet all the needs of even a single person, it is not practical to expect any entity to meet the needs of millions of people.

I honestly believe CONGRESS could care less about the American people, they are all about money for them and their supporters and getting re-elected.
As far as the rest of the"government" goes I cannot say firmly one way or another. I do believe that anyone who supports big government and generally that means those who draw a paycheck from them, care only about the government getting bigger which is diametriclly opposed to the benefits of the people.

Are you serious?
The US is one of the most successful, Democratic (although we are actually a Republic) countries in the world. We have fought against our own internal problem such as slavery, discrimination, and lack of human rights. Our poor would be considered wealthy in many other nations.
We have fought wars and spilled American blood to Liberate Europe from Naziism, and destroyed Japanese Imperialism.
We feed, clothe, and provide medicine to much of he poorest people in the world. We provide aid to our neighbors in the world during harsh times, such as after the horrible Tsunami that occurred in the near past.
Each and every American holds the ability to be prosperous, and happy via American values and capitalism. This while so called "enlightened" (not my term but the Left's) Socialist and Communist countries keep their people in darkness and poverty.
Your assertion seems to be based on Leftist rhetoric rather than fact, I suggest you look into the facts.

Capitalism is so everyone has an equal opportunity to provide for themselves. Granted, it's not perfect , but it has produced the most wealth, and best living conditions for a great number of people. When a country produces a lot of wealth, it then has the resources to provide for those who can't provide for themselves. I think we do pretty good.

I think that the assumption is that the more they help corporations the more they help people. Therefor they do anything for corporations so that corporation can give you a minimum wage job that you will spend in a corporation. That's good for statistics and corporation but the people are screwed.

Super President Bush has just been running around his favorite Latin American countries (I think there are four of them) telling them how America is going to look after their poor. Yeah, just like he has looked after America's poor. In fact no American president in living memory has looked after America's poor. No filthy Right Wing Jew, government advisor would allow that.

only when other political individuals act on our behalf. other than that no, they dont care about us. most of our law enforcements came from activists pressuring them and drawing up public criticism that made the government take action.
