Plan on moving to Altamonte Springs, early 2008! Chicago's job bank sucks!! how is the Job bank in Orlando? I know Disney is pretty big, and u all have lots more stores and hotels there, than Chicago! its sooo hard to get a job out here. I wanna move there, but I dont want to be Jobless outthere. I need something that pays at least 9.50$ an hour to start!

Since i lived in Chicago most my life and now live in Orlando, I have to tell u, ur making a great decision. Chicago may pay higher on the average skilled positions, however u can find endless opportunities of success in Orlando. Everyone so far is right, the theme parks do not pay well, they are like employment mills, they keep turning out new employees everyday, very high turn over rate and the average pay is only about $8hr. You should however, think about a telemarketing job. Telemarketing to some may be a scary word, but telemarketing rooms are EVERYWHERE in Orlando. You will receive an average of $8-$9 hr PLUS commissions or bonuses. I recommend working for one of the resorts out here like Starwood, Marriott, IslandOne, Fairfield, Hilton, etc. They pay good and offer good advancement. You don't need any real experience except being a people person! If you don't want to do sales, they have great customer service positions that also pay good and offer advancement. You can see some of these companies advertised on the following websites....

Hope things work out for u!

HA!!!! Don't move to Orlando or anywhere else in Central Florida looking for $9.50 an hour. IF your lucky, and I said IF, you may find some crap job paying minimum wage no benefits. They'll prbably want you to have 6 college degrees in what ever you want to do just to be considered. I'd not hold my breath though, the job market there is the worse I ever saw in my life anywhere. I had to move to get work. Your better off up north in Chicago.

You need to do some research first...$10/hr is doable in oralndo for unskilled labor but it may take you some time to work up to that...count on starting around $8.50 at the theme parks...if you bust your *** and make lead quickly (very doable if you are a hard charger) you can be at $10 after a year or so...wages are not more in orlando than they are in chicago btw....get real...lol
