You have to set personal limits for yourself....people will treat you the way you LET them treat you.
Everyone hurts someone once in a while, but if it is over and over again let the person know that it is not acceptable for you to be their punching bag.
God Bless!!

Because of trust and love. You don't expect your loved ones to hurt you and neither do they expect you to hurt them. It's part of life. Everybody hurts at some stage

We just perceive it as such because love is such a strong emotion. Whenever it comes in play, i.e. when we are in love, or cheated on, it is physically painful or wonderful. Whereas love can hurt or please, sadness can only hurt. That is why love is such a special emotion and we feel so hurt when it is not reciprocated or we have been hurt by someone we have trusted with our love.

It hurts because they are so close to you that it is/would be shocking when/if they do hurt you. Naturally, no one expects a loved one to be someone who causes pain.

They hurt us most because we care about them the most so it hurts more. Why do they hurt us? They are either selfish or they can't stop themselves. You need to take some positive actions.

When loved ones hurt us, more often than not it's unintentional. If it is intentional, they don't love you like they should. Loved ones know the buttons to push to make us more upset and the buttons not to push when we're upset already. If some stranger offends me, why the heck would I care? I don't know them; they don't know me. But it matters what loved ones do.

Perhaps because we are with them all the time and get taken/ take them for granted. I know I'm guilty of this myself - I figure these people will always love me no matter what, so I treat them like dirt from time to time. Not because I really want or need to , but because I figure I can get away with it. Hope this helps...

You let them inside your defensive net. If someone randomly insults you then it will likely bounce off you with no effect, unless you get affected by strangers easily.
If for instance someone within your defensive net starts doing things like that, then you've trusted them so its a more intense feeling when they turn against you.
