No point at all. But the good thing is that it's fun as well as educational. If you have a problem, it's 90% sure that someone will give you the answer to it, or guide you in the right direction. You get to know people....and it's very addictive! Welcome and good luck

Some kind of achievement. If it does not provide points or level or top contributor etc then there will be no meaning for this whole website. People will lose interest and no one's gonna give answer.

The more questions you answer the more points you get. The more point to have the higher the level you get. The higher the lever the more questions you can answer. If you don't care about the points then don't worry about it.

For us there is no point to the points, but it keeps people coming back to Answers because it's addictive. It helps Yahoo Answers gain popularity. They actually think this is comparable to wikipedia...what a joke.
Still, it's kinda fun.

The more points you earn the more things you can do. Like you're limited right now, you can only ask a few questions and so forth but the higher the ranking the more things you can do.

Nothing really, just a way to get you totally addicted to YA! so that you spend every waking moment online answering and asking questions of people you'll never meet. But it works!

When all else fails - read the INSTRUCTION!
After you sigh in, click on your name (in blue) to go to "My Profile" page. Next to the word "Total Points" there is a little blue question mark "?"
click on that and it wil show you page that explain everything about the points and how they work.
hope that helps
