It's either a french manicure or normal healthy nails that have not been damaged by polish. Take some nail vitamins, it will help.

If your talking about what I think you are talking about it is not possible to get the tip of your nail white w/o the help of a parlor. That is because the white tip is white fingernail polish that the parlor put there. It is called a french manicure. It also comes in more colors than just white.

When I was a teen, the craze was.. soaking your nail tips in lemon juice or bleach/water then scraping underneath them with tweezers. Im not sure how healthy it is for your nails though!
I found a pencil that looks like a white eyeliner a couple years back that you use under your nails.. and it worked good until you shower. It looks nice if you use some almost transparent pink nail polish.
Now I just get a french manicure from my nail girl... its pretty cheap and lasts a long time.

Odd question....everyone I know that has fingernails that extend beyond the "quick" have white tips. But most all of them do not use nail polish (at least on a regular basis, only for special occasions). You are the first I ever heard of having 'transparent' finger nails...strange...learn something new everyday.

mine are naturally very opaque. the only way to really duplicate that I have seen is with french manicure. they paint on a polish on the tips that kind of looks like white out correction stuff, and then you paint a pink or beige on top of it.

try not polishing then anymore. start buffing them with one of those four-sided buffers. in time, they should become a more pleasant and whiter colour. if you must polish, buy some without formaldehyde or toluene in them. both are bad for your nails.

You just need to get a french manicure set and follow the directions.

dont polich your nails. it turns your nails yellow or can stain them. keep them long and clean and always clean under the tip with a nail cleaner.
