My automobile RPM is showing .5 instead of 1, therefore my car stalls & dies.?

500rpm is fine. 1000 would be too high. Blame the stalling on something else.

when was the last time it had a tune up? you may be smothering the motor with a clogged air filter ,also with every oil change add a fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank,just a clean oil change will make the en gin run smoother , also spray gum out cleaner in the fuel injector ,also check that the transmission is on the full mark.
