Lyrics are first foremost and always. The lyrics should be out front with the music in the background. Guitars and guitar solo's su&ck big time when they try to overpower the lyrics. Lyrics are the entire reason that music exists.

When I like the music I pay attention to the lyrics.
Never vice versa

Lyrics is important to me.
What's the use of having a beautiful tune but with profantities spilt all over it and the song just babbling about meaningless stuff?
The most beautiful songs are those with seamless lyrics and beats that get stuck in your head.

Both but sometime the tune is better than the lyrics or vice versa. Than I just switch off the part I don't like when I hear it again.

I listen to the lyrics more and the music. because if the lyrics suck you might as well not put it on.

Just the music and melody line. I don't care about the lyrics too much.

I dont know about other blokes but I would say for me I usually do listen to the words but sometimes I just dont care or other times I simply cannot understand the words even if I try.
Why the question?
