Well, to my understanding in many states it still is.

What should be unlawful is hate based on race, creed and sexual orientation.

If I had a choice between living with a youth minister and a gay man (and nowadays the difference between the two may be much less than it used to be), I'll take Fabulous anyday.

I'd think it would be more reasonable to allow your son to make up his own mind on that issue. Other people telling people what to think based on their own misguided opinions is what has helped lead to the intolerances we have.

I would think...no...expect a Church and it's leaders to have a better grasp on reality and forgo this Holier than Thou attitude because degrading someone or an entire group as this person has done, is absolutely archaic. Rings of the pompous attitudes when black people were slaves and treated with disdain. Humanity, Christianity...have to look past the colors, sexual orientations ... and try treating others with the respect they think everyone owes them.

Why does Christianity sound more and more like a cult out of control?

It used to be. Just about 10 years ago, they rounded up about 30 gays in a town close to where I live. They were frequenting a park on the edge of town where they would meet for whatever. The police set up a sting operation and arrested a bunch of them. They were charged with public lewdness and sodomy. I won't get into the debate over what people do in their own bedrooms, but doing it in a park where children are usually present needs to be taken care of.

Personal choices such as sexual orientation should not fall under the jurisdiction of the law. What two consenting adults do behind closed doors is no one else's business. Any members of your church have children and still smoke in their homes and cars? Now that should be illegal. Point being, if the act directly harms others who have no say in the matter, it should be illegal. If two adults knowingly put themselves at risk, butt out and worry about your own life.

I agree that the minister should come out of the closet already and stop using the law to try to keep himself under control.

i imagine you opt for to study English to commence. i'm a liberal, I do prepare my little ones about evolution yet no longer that we "come from monkeys". it truly is a fallacy interior the creation vs. evolution argument....and it many times comes from the uneducated. i do not prepare my little ones that homosexuality is organic perse. I prepare them that there are animals and human beings whom are homosexuals and they ought to no longer discriminate. they ought to convey like to all and approaches their personal business enterprise. the theory that homosexuality isn't exterior of the human species is once again, an argument made by technique of the uneducated. i do no longer imagine ALL women must have abortions. i'm professional-decision and yet could never have one. i imagine that human beings shouldn't stress others into doing what they imagine is ideal in words of an abortion. Why could I stress a woman who hates little ones (aka, my mom) to have slightly one even even with the reality that i could never have an abortion? once again, the uneducated like to make generalizations.

I completely disagree with the youth minister and if I were you, I would confront him about teaching your child messages of hate. He needs to keep those ignorant opinions to himself and not teach them to children.

Oh yes, we should have harsh regulations over who a person can love, what substances they can put in their body, how they can dress, and what they can do in their free time. I think it'd be just peaches if one person in the world decided how all of us should live our lives right down to the most minute detail, and violators should be beaten to death. Doesn't that sound wonderful? THINK FOR YOURSELVES YOU TOOLS!

The only problem that I have with homosexuals is that all the good looking men are gay - so unfair. Not really a good enough reason to be illegal.
