No, do not be involved when walls, dry wall, and insulation are being handled.....mask or no mask there's too many toxians you could breath in or somehthing could even get on your skin that's not good for you....i would stay away from that.
Painting should be okay, as long as it's well ventilated in the room and you wear a mask because paint fumes are not healthy for anyone especially pregnant women.

you need to stay away from doing drywalling and insulation (insulation can most definitely cause breathing problems, rashes.....)
you can paint the walls (i would recommend opening windows and wearing a mask though)
you can also enjoy the more fun pleasures of getting the room ready like picking out clothes, toys, furniture, linens, curtains....
(i hear the whole animal/noah arc type thing is big this year)
congratulations on the new addition to the family :)

Ask your OB/GYN, but don't be surprised if he/she says "no."
I think I would let my husband take care of all of that stuff and I would focus on other ways to help get the nursery ready such as picking out the paint colors, linens, curtains and other decorative aspects. After your husband is finished with the room, you could get the crib ready, help hang stuff on the walls, put all the baby's new things in the room, etc.

as far as you helping with the dry wall and insulation you would need to wear a mask as it might afect your breathing. i dont think you need to wear a mask if you helped with the painting just take a breather every once in awhile so that you dont get to overwhealmed with the fumes. so go ahead have fun and enjoy every moment you can. babies grow up to fast. i know i have four.

it would probably be best if you didn't help with those parts...you get to have all the fun when it comes to doing all the nursery shopping!!! i know you kinda feel helpless when you can't help with the BIG parts but taking care of that little one is top priority ... I just found out I'm pregnant in the middle of painting our "guest room" which now has to be re painted for a nursery!!!

I am not sure if you could help with putting up the new dry wall and instilation, but absolutely NO PAINTING (my doctor said so to me) Good luck on the room- my nursery is undergoing dramatic changes too...
but ask your doctor about it before you decide whether or not help.

I dont know if you can help with the drywall, but that and at least fiberglass insulation are horrible jobs. Let him do those anyway. If you get the fiberglass on you, its a terrible itch. You could help hang the drywall, mud and tape, but dont do the sanding.

Yeah, I agree, skip the drywall but no problem with the painting. And don't forget the really fun stuff, picking out the furniture and the other baby stuff.
