Because when you can have something, you take it for granted. You don't yearn for it. When you can't have it, your curiosity and rebelliousness makes you want it. It's something we inherited from Eve: we long for the forbidden fruit. Once someone says we can't have something, we want it more. It becomes more enticing & attractive. The temptation to sin can be so strong that it's a struggle to resist. This struggle builds character. Resisting temptation is often necessary to live a good life. We are tested in many ways. To be a good person you can't just give in to every impulse & desire. If you know something is morally wrong (stealing, having an affair etc) then you shouldn't do it, no matter how tempting it may be. Even if you think you can get away with it (not be found out by others) you never really get away with anything. Your conscience knows. God knows.
Be good!
Peace out.

i believe it's a power and control struggle.we want to be the masters of our own lives perhaps feeling we should be.but at any age we can have that freedom taken away.many elderly people and young people < 15 don't have the ability to drive.it has been taken away or cannot be obtained yet.that also brings us to the all encompassing word freedom.you can be independent with freedom but not so much without.ask any convict in jail what he misses the most and he'll most likely say freedom over their own lives, the same is probably true of teenagers.
