I plant my hanging baskets as soon as possible after the threat of frost is over. It takes a few weeks for them to get looking nice, so if you can get them planted early and bring them inside if it looks like frost, you'll have a head start. Be sure to add a time release fertilizer and those water absorbing crystals. Be sure to take the spent blossoms off three times a week.

It depends on where you live. Here in the north of England, I tend to wait until after Easter - just to avoid frost damage. However, then you run the risk of all the plants in the shops being already sold!

I have 3 made up at the moment but they are in the greenhouse to protect them from late frost. I usually put them out at the end of April, early May to give them chance to harden off.

plant in april with lots of petunias when a flower dies pick it off another will grow this is called dead heading and if you do it all summer your baskets will be glorious

Most people say in the spring, but you can still get a frost, I always do mine on Mothers day.......

If you do decide to do them now, just watch the waeather and bring them in, on the cooler nights

you can do them now, but keep out the frosty night's. Put in a shed or greenhouse
