I don't believe that anybody is locked into any job or business unless they choose to be.
The ones who want to get ahead are always open to an alternate stream of income which they can either use to supplement their income or eliminate a job altogether.
Life is about choices and learning to get ahead, people can either make excuses about why they are where they are or they can take destiny into their own hands and make the necessary changes. Information is available to everyone, it's a matter of whether they have a big enough "why" to use it or not.

I am looking for opportunities and researching a few, but am locked into what I am doing for the next 7 years.

I'm a CNA. I tried to go to nursing school. Before that I ran a greenhouse. I'd love to do a greenhouse fulltime.
