what are some shared folders that shouldn't be shared when accessing the internet? and if you disabled this shared folder would it cause the internet to have connection problem?

For safety, you shouldn't have any shared folders. If you need it, create one and share only that.

Any shared folder is a potential risk. So unless you need them for something turn them all off. In fact you can even turn off windows file and printer sharing entirely - just remove it from the network. You only need it if other computers on your local network need access to your comptuer. (Control panel networking - network adapter - double click, then just remove the item. It can be added back should you need it.)

It will not affect your internet connection.

if I were you... I would set up a new folder for sharing and disabled sharing for everything else... there shouldn't be any connectivity issues...

Where are you coming from? Are you talking about shared files on P2P programs? (I.E Limewire) If so, just move all sensitive files (passwords etc:) out of the shared folder, but all other stuff, is right to go
