I am looking for off-campus residence and there's this bachelor appartment but in the additional details, she says, bsmt of house...bizarre...can anyone help me out?

Probably just means it has no frills. Steroetypically in society single guys are messier, and dont care as much about how nice a place they live. They are saying that the only people who would really be happy are sloppy , single guys who dont care about nicer amenities.
I would not even bother looking at it unless the price is very low.

Calling something a bachelor apartment typically means that it is not large enough for two people, and that no self-respecting female would ever even visit the place, let alone live there.
A small cave would be a good example of a bachelor apartment.

I don't define a bachelor apartment. An apartment is just an apartment. It could be applicable and livable to both couples and bachelors. The way you are defining it that way is because you want too. If you want to live in a basement you may want to be cautious because remember, you are living under their rules even if it is in the basement. Also, know who they are personally because they could be a psycho.

a one mattress room is in many situations a stable length, the comparable as a 2 mattress room minus a room. in case you cant discover the different aptments, maybe seem in a 20-30 miles radius around the place you prefer to stay. there is often yet another house waiting for you.
