yesterday i went for blood work because i have a missed period, breast enlargement, and my stomach is extending. I am worried about pregnancy but could a thyroid problem also cause me to miss my period? I am waiting for the blood test results and i wanted to see what your opinions where. TY

Yes, it can cause menstrual problems if your thyroid levels are off. Also, PCOS can cause menstrual problems. Many with PCOS, are also hypothyroid. Keep track of your thyroid levels and always test first thing in the morning. The morning TSH should be under 2.0, closer to 1.0.

Thyroid problems can affect your period and so can PCOS. My daughter is getting checked for these 2 things because her periods are very irregular. Talk to your doctor after the results come back.
