The prevailing thought today from the socialists is that you should celebrate and worship the racial class you are in seeing that as some sort of achievement. They see race as an achievement. Considering you have nothing at all to do with your race selection, how could that be considered an achievement.

Multiculturalism states that culture, ideas, customs and skills are a matter of racial membership. That is in itself racism at its finest. Lets build a box, put people in it, and never let them leave or improve and move on to bigger and better things.

This states that multiculturalism, that different cultural values, are morally equivalent. In a civilized world that concept is purely ludricous. Consider female mutilation (Middle East), slavery (N. Sudan), stoning of women for adultery (Middle East). Those differences in culture are not morally equivalent to my cultural values.

Right and wrong are universal despite what you say about other cultures, it is wrong to mutilate women, it is wrong to stone women to death while the husband receives no punishment.

America is and was the only melting pot, assimilation into the culture was expected, it meant becoming an American, being proud of its laws of equality for all.

Multilcuturalism seeks to destroy that, seeks to remove the American culture that has been such a progressive influence on the world. Multiculturalism is racism.

The great actor Morgan Freeman said it best to Mike Wallace in December 2005 when he called Black History Month "ridiculous" and told liberals to basically end this endless racial labeling and identify people as individuals, not collectively in some special racial group. Bill Cosby in 2004 told black America to start acting in a responsible manner and end this crude black culture.

Multiculturalism is part of the socialist plan to destroy America. There was a time when people from all over the world came to America to be Americans. Now they come here but still cling to their old country's culture and no longer assimilate.

This dilutes the American culture and by so doing weakens the glue that has held us together for centuries. Add to that the attack on the nuclear family and the redefinition of patriotism and pretty soon you have all the ingredients for socialism.

culture in terms of ethics are morally equal, we cannot say that another societies culture (ethics) are wrong b/c that would be saying that there is a universal standard of right and wrong. as much as some would like to think american culture is the right culture it isn't a fair assessment. many philosophy books talk about this topic. there is also nothing wrong w/ celebrating ones cultural history, w/ the history of america however, race related issues has continued to be a problem. for instance if a black person mentions their race, their playing the race card, and if a white person does then their racist. of course neither of these are inherently true but that is what we have been conditioned to think. paula zahn on cnn has been talking about this lately too and it's time for us as a nation, black white brown and everyone else to address the issues that plague this country. think of this, if your wife/husband abused you for many years and then one day just said ok, i'm not going to abuse you any more and then didn't, has the issue really been addressed???

In Australia its a well thought out by the political parties as a method of distributing monies to buy votes for an election. Though they do not directly give money for the vote it is given under the pretense of multiculturalism in the form of grants for everything that they can think up. It is more multi culturing than anything else. On election days an ethnic group attracts their own to vote for the party their leader is handing out how to vote cards for.

I agree with your last statements regarding the radical cultural practices of other cultures. But I must say that the assertion you make about multiculturalism is a little radical. True multiculturalism - a cultural mosaic as opposed to melting pot - can make a country far more diverse and therefore, stronger. Respecting and acknowledging the cultures of others is not a sign of weakness...as much can be learned and celebrated.

I fail to see any advantage whatsoever in diversity for diversity's sake.

I can see many, many disadvantages however.
