a grass thatched roof and some wooden beams holding it up, all blackened by smoke from years of cooking with wood and/or cow dung when wood is unavailable. there's a small hole letting in some brilliant strobes of sunlight made by field mice when coming into the hut looking for some maize or peanuts stored in the corner.

a hole!!!!! the electricians here made these bit stupid holes in the ceiling to fit lights into - but didnt bother to finish it yet! I feel like Im living in a den - theres big gaping holes all above me!!!
