Other than UV lamps, is there any way to generate UV radiation in a simple school lab?

The device needs to be capable of producing DIFFERENT FREQUENCIES of UV.... can you do that with UV lamps? (the only ones I've seen are of one frequency only).

Thanks! x

Not to my knowledge.

UV radiation is usually produced by exiting atoms of a particular kind. Those atoms then emit a specific wavelength of radiation.
Therefore a multi-frequency UV generator (now there's a Star Trek word!) will neither be easy nor common.

You can do it using different devices.
False-money-detectors, tanning-lights and pond-cleaners all have different wavelengths. I ordered them from less to more dangerous.

The arc of a welder generates UV rays I believe. I don't think that is what you are loking for however.
