Once, people who sell fish food will say more, but don't believe them. It's even good to skip a day once a week, and it won't harm the fish at all. When going on vacation it's better to not feed your fish at all, letting someone care for your pets who doesn't know them can do more harm than good. I have gone away for as long as 10 days and the fish have suffered no ill effects.

I feed my cichlids and Betta 3 times a day and my catfish 2 times but I only put in a very small amount (about 2 small pieces of flake or what ever food I am feeding per fish). Some days I also skip a feeding just so they don't get to much.

I feed mine two times a day. Depending on what they are they get Tetramin Tropical Flake, Tetra Spirulina (mollies I'm raising and my personal tank with silver dollars) Tetra Cichlid Flake, Tetramin pellets for the Corys and The second meal will be Ocean Nutrition brand flakes and pellets. Variety is good. Tetra is good food, maybe not the best, but widely available and cheap. I used to use Wardley as my second brand, but not so much anymore. I also feed them brine shrimp flake, Tubifex and Blood worms.
I put in enough food for them to consume in 3-5 minutes.

I usually feed them once a day. Over feeding is a big problem in keeping the tank clean. I usually turn the aquarium light on in the morning and feed them when I turn the light on and then turn the light off at night.

I feed mine twice a day. Once in the morning with a flake or pellet, just becauses it's quick and easy. Then in the evening with frozen or live foods. I have more time in the evenings to feed them, so it's easier to do it that way for me.
