People said that about the Beatles and Hawk wind too.
And even the rolling stones had a hit because of Satan
"please to meet ya hope ya guess my name"
If you wanted to be considered a rebel or go against the norm just throw Satan in there. just the mention got you airplay
remember there is no bad publicity.

Nowadays no one is really as bothered.

It is well documented that the record company provided Black Sabbath with their 'satanic' image and insisted they keep and use that image to sell records to a new demographic. Only one member was known to 'dabble' in satanism, Toni Iommi. I do know that 'The Eagles' WERE indeed a satanic band. The members all openly worshipped the devil together, along with members of Fleetwood Mac & Bob Seger. Just check out the lyrics to 'Hotel California' which is based on Antwon Levay's satanic church, 'California Hotel'. Anyway, this eventually became a source of conflict between Don Henley, Glenn Frey & other band members, as Don Henely found himself no long desiring to worship the devil. This conflict split the band into and caused their breakup in 1980. Don went on to release his 2nd solo album and cunningly titled it 'Building The Perfect Beast'. The Eagles swore to never reunite unless 'hell freezes over'. So 12 years later, when they did reunite, it was called the 'Hell Freezes Over' Tour...lol Notice how the Eagles songs, on the surface, don't seem like they were created by satanists? But, considering their first Greatest Hits album is the number one best selling album of all time, I'd say a few souls were sold to the devil ;-) Look at all the followers the Eagles have and have had over the years and still growing even today. That's how the devil works. He sneaks in where you least expect him too. Black Sabbath were just a marketing tool for the record company (with respect to their sometimes groundbreaking music). :-)

I am not so sure that Black Sabbath is a "satanic" group as such.
They were "shock rockers" using controversially themed lyrics.
Crazy? Yes, they were.
But i doubt they were 'real' satanists to begin with.
