Yes, I read a book many years ago called The Night by
Elie Wiesel ! He was a survivor from the Holocaust in Germany. He was really graphic about how the nazis used
babies as shooting targets, and the reality of what when on
at Aushwitz until they were liberated by the allied forces !
It made me cry, and question humanity ! Thinking about it, still gives me goosebumps !

There are so many books I cant even remeber all of them.
The Colour Purple, that always makes me cry and I have trouble reading it all in one go. I always have to stop and calm down and remember its just a book.
Books by David Eddings when certain people die or there are speacial moments I ball my eyes out. Wherever I am, people look at me like I'm nuts but I cant help it. But I also laugh out loud when they say or do something funny.I have been reading them since I was about 12 or 13 and they still make me cry, even though I know its going to happen.
Dragonlance series, same thing.
Thw Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, same thing.
They are the ones that stick out in my mind because I re-read them over and over. At least once a year. But I become very emotionally attached to my books. I was reading one series of books and they were actually causing me to have panic attacks because I was so scared and stressed for the characters. I also am happy for days afterwards if something really good happens in them. I'm just a nut :)

I was reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and while reading it in the wee hours of the morn, I was so scared because it was pretty chilling. The same goes for The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver.
As for books that made me cry, I'd say some chick-lit novels. I think it's not fair to label such books as fluffy or light-reads because some of them are really good at tugging at your heartstrings. Good In Bed, In Her Shoes (Jennifer Weiner), P.S. I Love You (Cecelia Ahern), Wish Upon A Star (Tina Reilly) and I'm A Believer (Jessica Adams).

Suzanne's Diary to Nicholas by James Patterson.
I was reading the book and enjoying it and then something happened all of a sudden and I started crying and had to put the book aside because I was out in public while reading it.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven. Oh my gosh...I needed a box of tissues next to me the whole time. And of course Tuesdays with Morrie.
Plus, I do have to agree with a previous person on The Stand. While it never made me cry, it was certainly touching and disturbing all at the same time.

Stephen Kings The Stand made me set the book down a few times and take a breath of fresh air. He has a way of putting you right in the middle of the stench.

Yeah, the Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison and The Wedding by Dorthy West. Both books were heartbreaking to me.

Some years ago while reading "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown, I had to put it down several times to contemplate the magnitude of injustice visited on Native Americans. It made me ashamed of that part of my heritage.

I sobbed when Dumbledore died in the last Harry Potter book. For a long time, too. I had to take a nap. Sniff.
