Politics has always been a career, but at first it was a part time job. When it started paying enough to support the politician without his having to work for a living, it became full-time. Politics is about having power and exercising that power, not about public service. Every political speech promises what the politician wants to do. If you agree, you vote for that one, and if you disagree, you vote against that one. Today's politicians don't promise much, never say how they'll accomplish what they do promise, and in general, only sponsor what someone else has written, usually a large contributor who has a special interest in seeing the rules written in an advantageous way for them.

That's easy...because they can. I remember a few years back, with then Congressman Bud Shuster of PA. He was in charge of the House Transportation Committee, and had an airport built within 10 miles from his house, even though the County that he lived in had a commercial airport 15 miles from his house. He would sleep at the house of a registered lobbyist in DC, would sneak around trying to avoid the press, and was later given a reprimand from the Ethics committee. Whenever election time would roll around people would say, "we need to get rid of those "bad" congressmen", and everyone was in agreement, however, the people who really counted would say, "yeah, get rid of them all, except the one in our jurisdiction, because he has given so much in economic development". The problem was, that each congressman/woman gave economic development to their districts, so in essence, people would say that the other one is bad, but theirs is good. The end result is that the majority held their positions.
The other issue is that they don't want term limits, and most people don't understand that unlike the House and Senate, most other political offices (including the president) have limits. The problem is that in order to get a term limit established, a congressman would have to make a bill stating as much, which would be like cutting their own throats. Won't happen, unless a referendum is added to the ballot, and you probably won't get enough people to go along with that idea.

Good point! The founding fathers saw public service as just that. Leave your career briefly to serve the public...then return to your real job. What real job did Kerry have?? ...gigolo?? What real job did Ted Kennedy have...diving instructor??
Lets insist on term limits..no more than two terms in any elective office. Then let the politicians get real jobs so they might be able to relate to the rest of us.
Lets also insist on zero based budgeting. Start every program and office of the federal government at zero dollars each year and justify why we should give our tax dollars to it!!

Lot replaced into questioning "getting out of uncle Abraham's tents." Sodom replaced right into a city that replaced into deeply pagan, as have been the different cities of the easy, Gomorrah, Zoar, Admah and Zeboiim. Practices beginning from human sacrifice to cannibalism to temple prostitution have been recorded interior the area. From their attitude, they have been a non secular human beings, yet from God's attitude, they have been in touch interior the incorrect stuff. 2 factors to make right here: the be conscious Sodomite has basically one valid meaning: a individual from Sodom. in spite of using this be conscious in some English Bibles, that's got here across nowhere interior the unique languages. 2nd, jointly as Ezekiel does record the sins of Sodom, scripture in no way connects the city to homosexuality, nor did any of the writers of the Mishnah (historic Jewish commentaries).

Individuals started becoming career Politicians and started to build their political dynasties and began running rampant just after America stopped hanging horse thieves!
After that it all went down hill fast!
The American populace really brought this upon themselves!
