Yes, due to an injury replacement pinch runner. It would fall into the same category as a batter who might be hit with a pitch and end up with a broken wrist or hand. Same rule applies.

The rules say it's only a home run when the batter has touched all four bases, but the rules don't cover what happens if the batter cannot do so. At the umpire's discretion, a pinch-runner could be put in to finish the baserunning. There have been a couple instances of players injuring themselves (though not dying) before finishing finishing their running.
Of course, if a player died in the middle of a game, there would probably be bigger worries than whether the run counted.

If he doesn’t touch first base he can’t get a pinch runner so he would have to make it to first base. For that to happen thou if a guy died I don’t think anyone in baseball would complain that the man hit a homerun before dieing besides how great a story would that be.

I would like to think they would cancel the game and have some grieving time, and schedule a rematch at a later date...but no, I would assume they would let a substitute runner come out, scrape the guy up off the field, count the run, and continue with the game...geez...guys....

Yes. In that case a substitute runner would be allowed to run the bases and touch home.

Maybe it would depend on if you are a team with money, for example The Braves or The Yankees!!!! They would pay for the run. Poor Twins tho, may not be able to afford it!!! LOL!!

This is definitely one of the most original questions I have evr considered. i would think they would opinch run and give the poor dead guy one more homer for his career as a sign of respect. I doubt that's in the rule book... hee hee

Yeah, his teammates would push his carcass down the third base line until his cold, limp hand touched home plate.

Yes, because they would call out a pinch runner and then he would run the bases for that player.
