Well they are both good but MySql is somewhat better. That is just an opinion you understand but its not just my opinion..

With the amount of usage I would say MySql has a little stronger "user" backing. Alot depends on what you need it to do for you.

Interview... mentions postgres is free; so is mysql. I find mysql to be very lightweight and easy to use. It does a good job of extending sql a bit so you can get the job done, and 5 lacks little that is in standard sql.

Documentation is so-so, but there are a lot of 3rd party books and code samples (I think post and my are similar in that aspect).
