My personal thoughts;
They are not really getting any.
If they are getting some, it is of low satisfaction.
They are 'marketing' themself to other potential mates.
They need/want attention..

All the reasons you gave OR they just have no self respect. Why do they need to publicise it, is society really interested in what others do in the bedroom and how often. I know I'm not.

Some people are born posers so I feel sorry for them especially when they need to tell everyone about there sex life or lack of it.

Only people with low self esteem do this! Probably, they don't believe in themselves as they say, otherwise they wouldn't try to convince anyone!

I think they're sad loosers who have to talk about it to make themselves look good, plus they're probably not even getting it anyway.

i talk openly about my sex life,and thats only cause im proud of it.i dont or want attention i get plenty of that,its nice to tlk about and ll my mates talk about it to.so we must all be sad.
