80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

There is no meaning of life.
I would prefer it if this issue could just be dropped forever as it is getting silly now. People go on about "meaning" and "purpose" as though they're applicable to all existence.
Well they aren't.
"Purpose" and "meaning" are human fallacies.... tools.... short-cut notions we use to describe our own ability to use consistancy to our own ends in order to predict the outcome of a future situation..... then lead ourselves to believe that we are somehow independantly responsible for that outcome... or indeed that anyone is...
No.
"Purpose" and "meaning" in any context can only apply to human endeavours.
Humanity did not make "life"... hence life has no meaning nor purpose.
It has a "definition", but even that isn't objective, and people argue about precisely what it is on a regular basis.

I think the meaning of life is to make a difference, and make the world a better place. To get your voice out in the open, to have people listen to you. I believe we're all here for a reason.

life in abundance the bible says that..We all become consumed by what is not important..and if the lord wills we become old with regret for neglecting the little things that matter the most..Life is a test to see where your place in the kingdome lies..we can do whatever we want on earth.with consequence if you get caught..If in your heart lies malice and destruction where would you fit in the righteous kingdom, would you be in heaven with more people to kill than one could..or if your joy is the company of loved ones can you realistically see that..Of course..To understand the meaning of life one must know the omega, the ending, then can you truly grasp the concept on life..Hope this helps if not read your bible

Mr. Natural from the R. Crum comix would have said, "It doesn't mean sh8t". I tend to agree unless you have a better definition. Then again, what is life as you know it? That is philosophical unless you can't define the term.
