why cant people fly? why oh why oh why?

and why dont people grow wings when they existed!!!!

If we were to fly, then we would either need to be a lot lighter, or have totally massive arm muscles. Birds' muscles are massive in proportion to the rest of their body, to flap wings more than once a second, and doing that with our current arms would be hard even without the wings.

Then we'd have to evolve the actual wings and it'd take many thousands of years if you could co-ordinate evolution, which we cannot.

Uh... if we were to fly, we would need very large chest and arm muscles compared to our body. Also, our bones have to be thin, hollow, and very light. Also, we don't have feathers, and wings.

But, we evolved out of the same animal as birds: reptiles.

Because it's already bad enough when you park your nice, clean car under a tree full of birds for five minutes...I don't want to come out from the house to find a flock of people have been roosting over my auto...

Somewhere in our evolutionary past, arms and hands (or front legs and feet) better served our ancestors than did wings.

For birds and some mammals (like bats) evolution went a different way.

God made us that way. He knew if we were to travel to far off places it would be a hell of a problem flying with all our baggage.
