I don't know. Certain music just seems to be popular among certain groups for some reason. I have a similar problem like you. I'm white and I like rap and R&B. I'm from an almost all-white country where very few people listen to rap and R&B isn't that popular here either, so it's almost impossible for me to find someone here who likes the same music as I. I even have to explain or almost justify to lots of people why I listen to rap, people just think that's weird and can't understand it. It's crazy how some music is considered 'black music' and other music 'white music', as if there can't be people from all groups appreciating it all.

Don't let this stop you from going to concerts and having fun. There may not be many black people who listen to the same bands as you, but just look at the bright sides... at least you're pretty unique then. :) Rock on and have fun!

Who said that they are not supporting blacks? You should listen to WHATEVER music you enjoy. Many blacks enjoy music other then R&B and rap. There are probably other blacks who attended the concert wondering the same thing. Surely more were at the concert. There really is no way to count each black at a huge concert. I wish you luck at finding more people who enjoy rock, but in the meantime try to enjoy it without feeling weird. This will not be the last time you'll need to enjoy something alone. Be comfortable as yourself and you'll eventually meet others who share your interests.

Best of luck to you!

It's not about the band supporting certain races. Are there less blacks in the world ? Most like rap and rnb but not every likes the music suited to their demographic, so theres probably heaps of others out there like you..

Because they can't get major label record deals. You're not weird. I love rock too. And Jada Pinkett-Smith has a nu metal band. And of course there's Lenny Kravitz.

I don't know any blacks who like those bands, my black friends who like rock are more into Muse, or other bands who have more of a british sound
