Don't leave your bags out of sight while traveling, always keep your room locked and personal items locked away also. Don't bring liquids on the plane (if you happen to fly)
If you happen to drink, don't let your drink out of your sight (if at a bar) due to possible drugging. Wear clothes that wont attract attention to you as an American, to avoid terrorist actions. Don't drink the water in Mexico. Sit in aisle seats on buses statistically its safer. have fun

Let your family know where you will be. Unplug everything in your house. Make sure you have plenty of money. Reservations are good too. Have someone check your mail daily. Be careful and have fun!

Make sure you unplugged all the electrical objects in house and remember to put sunscreen on.

wear clean underwear. You wouldnt want to get on vacation, have an accident and make the ambulance driver think that people where your from wear dirty underwear.

Take hand sanitizer, a roll of toilet paper and cleans sheets. Some hotels aren't as clean as they first appear!
