It seems he is a very narcissistic person, but I think he might be gay. He had a ladyboy in his harem thing and I think seemed like he is gay. This is a serious question.

A lot of those people would swing both ways. he was so powerful that he would do anything he wanted. He would do anything to anybody just to show that he was in total control of both sexs. So it would not matter what he really liked. He was only in love with his own self, his power over those under him.

Some people would call him omnisexual or perhaps pansexual is also more correct. Also he wasn't persian as that word was not around back then, but then pansexual and omnisexual were not words back then either. *smile*. He was Saracen, but he felt that since he was so tall and strong and smart that he could do anything, however that was his downfall. He felt he was a god and thought he was omnipotent and omniscient. But when the king of the Spartans drew Xerxes blood with his spear, then Xerxes knew at that moment that he was just a man. The actor who plays Xerxes does a really good job of getting that surprised look when the spear almost kills him.

Lastly, the greek and arabic world at that time and on up to the Ottoman Empire was very liberal when it came to men on men relationships. Most soldiers were bisexual back then and some were gay and some were het. As long as you got the job done, no one cared. Some people say that Alexander the Great's downfall was that he loved a man more than he loved a woman. But really the whole anti-homosexuality started in Southern Spain when the Moors were ok with homosexuality and Spain was loosing the war against them. And it became a crime to be gay because you did not produce children to battle the Moors coming from Africa. Thankfully nowadays we live in not so barbaric times as the movie 300. But some of the honor the Spartans had should be brought back to today.

His character could have been bi, but he seemed to like mutants of all kinds just in general. He did have several mutants with him including the Greek ones he bribed, the chained up soldier, the head lopping guy, the mutant animals etc.
