It has to do with one of the hormonal elements in women's perspiration.
As the molecules of hormones enter the air, they cause the bodies of women who spend a lot of time together to coordinate their menstrual periods.
As for the 4 a.m thing, that's not been my experience.
Good luck.

you have remember human beings are pack animals so when women spend large amount of time together they will menstruate at the smae time as the offspring will arrive together and there is a greater chance that more than one of the offspring will survive. This is quite common in nature amongst social animals.
The second part of your question I have no idea about, as I am a man. But scientifically speaking 0400 hours seems about right as it give the body 3 hours before the digestion system is at its peak so when you eat at say 0500am the body can get the nutrients into bloodstream faster.

If it's true, no wonder the Amazon's were so fearsome!
My partner has irregular periods, in that they can take anywhere between 25-35 days, although usually they're within a few days. She's noticed that when she goes on holiday with her girlfriends and one of them is due, she'll sync up, which is strange. By this I mean if her friend is due in three days and she's due in ten, she'll be early.
Also, she worked in a team of mostly girls some years back, and over a year, the majority of them sync'd up.

I heard the same thing about women having their periods at the same time, but that hasn't been my experience. Until I hit menopause, I was like clockwork, the end of the month. I worked a lot of different places between 14 & 50. I never heard the other one & that wasn't my experience, either. Mine could start in the middle of the day, so I always carried protection with me when it was close.

I have experienced this with my three daughters when they were living at home as well as with the women that I worked with, I believe that the hormones float through the air and causes mass bleeding.
