Good question... my Star!
For life to be life, pain and regrets are a must, without which pleasures and pride will have no meaning whatsoever.
Our life is defined by the presence of its bright as well as dark sides, coupled with our hope and worry of future as to which side would come up next...... leading to our constant endeavour to ensure the brighter side would come up more often.

No I can tell you life with no pain and regret is really beautiful and joyful. We had a guest here for one week, who lived that. He is a Dr. Prof. still one of the most easiest people I came across with for a long time. He forgives, why as he knows that the cost of non forgiveness is a cost too high to pay.
He lives as everyday is his last day. He treasures simple things. He is a person who walked with peace. I really want to be more like him. It is a beautiful life, I can assure you, to live without pain and without regret.

definately more like death as to live is to experience life which sometimes leads to pain and regret. one can not grow if there is no pain or regret to learn from.

Pain and Pleasure are NOT the two sides of the same coin, but they do make life worth living.
Is a life without pleasure worth living ?
Why would someone like pain for himself or herself?
Identify what pleases you, and try to achieve it. If the pain and hardships you endure on the way are worth it, keep going. THAT IS LIFE. To keep going no matter pain and/or pleasure.

Is there anything called "pleasure" in this life? Everything statrts with dissatisfaction and ends with dissatisfaction, In the enquiry of pleasure, we keep getting more and more pain and pleasure is incompetent to fullfill our desire and we keep getting dissatisfaction and pain. So don't worry, everybody's life is a "Pain" by itself. Your question is wrong as there is no life without pain.

Well if there is no pain or regret, it's most likely a life on crack.. Its a life when you're on it, but you're dead when you're out of it.
