Well for a normal human being protest are peaceful
it all depends upon the situation and cause and time according to that some time protest are violent
but one should never take help of terror or violence to protest
nor think of it. As someone said desperate time needs desperate measures people take this as this way to use terror or violence to protest. This is the worse way to go,
It will loose its sole purpose and harm many in many different ways

And even people who were advocates of Civil Disobedience such as Martin Luther King jr and Mahatma Ghandi recognized and taught against such...
Such as Kings letter from birmingham as an example.. where he said that though he did use 'direct action' the battle should be solved through the court of law and not be taken to the streets.
