recreate your first date or your first "time" together. Instead of making it about something you bought him, make it about how happy you are to have him.

Make it fun.The morning of the anniversary greet him with a breakfast and hand him the card with the money. Say it is for him to help with deciding what you both will do with it. Guys do not hate getting money for gifts. That way you both can plan for something. You might be able to do something later making you anniversary last another day or so! If he adds to it it will be better. Like a get away...

You're going to love this site. There are lots of stories of what people did on their first anniversary. Very good reading too.
Lots of ideas here too.
Congrats on making it through the first year.

A nice picnic or candlelight dinner at home.Just the two of you.Take the phone off the hook and just spend the day and night together.Show him how much fun it is to be with the best friend you have in life.I've been married for 35 years and she's still my best friend.

on my first anni, i bought my husband a small bunny paperweight, it is plated in silver. since then every year i buy him a bunny. if he is sentimental maybe you should try something like that, that way everytime he sees a bunny he will think of you.
and it is very easy to find stuff with bunnies, that doesnt look childish. and also your anni is close to easter which will make it easier. mine is in jan, which makes it hard to find cute rabbits then.

Get him what he likes. Men are easier to please,..... keep that in mind, I just had my anniversary and I bought my baby a Godiva cookie basket and had it delivered to our hotel suite in Vegas,...we live in california,... but got married in vegas so we decided to celebrate it over there. He was soo surprised. I also got him a couple's massage, where they brought us champaigne and chocolates. It was sweet.
Happy Anniversary

A hotel for a weekend. You could bring some of your own stuff (food & drink).
