It is considered the most skilled game in all of poker. Most of the poker you have played in your life probably a lot of luck is involved. Holdem is considered the cadallic of poker.

Since everyone has the same board cards -- you can easily determine if you have the best possible hand (the nuts). You can also easily determine what the odds are of outdrawing your oppenent even if you know he is ahead of you at the moment.

The game is also possible because most people mistakenly think it is easy. Since you only have 2 hole cards, it is simple. But again -- there are still millions of combinations. Better players win more than they lose --- because of skill -- not because of luck

Texas Hold'em is fun. It is simple to play and has all the elements of a poker game. It gained popularity due to TV exposure on its tournament.
What little people know is there is a Scrammble Texas Hold'em Poker Game using Scrammble Cards (Alphabet cards with points and bonus operators). The same procedure of Texas Hold'em is used except now you try to make words out of your two cards and the five community cards on the table. One who makes a word with highest points wins. Seven letter word gets an additional bonus. All the fun elements of Poker are retained except it now adds a new dimention to challenge the players (brains) with vocabulary and spelling. It is great for kids to play. Scrammble is the inventor but he speaks objectively with years of experience in game playing.

it has a great combination of many factors that make it popular.

rules are simple, but the game is complex and has a lot of depth

lot of players, allows for many styles, personalities, to mix

a game that moves quickly, casinos love that as they can make money by offering the game, and players love it as the action is constant

there is enough gamble in the game vs other games to make it exciting and not always predictable, which creates excitement, but skill plays enough of a part in the game to attract regular players to play on a regular basis and have some idea of a positive return.

and now the game has grown so much that there is big money to be made and everyone has the dream like Chris Moneymaker, regular guy, who won a seat in a $10 satellite tournament and went on from that to win 5 million
