what is the earliest age i can retire?

In terms of Social Security, 62 is the earliest at least for my age bracket. I am 64.

Depends on where you work and what your resources are. They question is too general. Win the lottery and you can retire tomorrow. But seriously, some companies let you retire at age 55, by that I mean they will pay you a pension. But very few pensions are enough to live on. So if you do not have income from a 401K or IRA, then you probably can't retire until your retirement income allows you to do so.

Depends. Private Industry, probably 62 unless they offer early out.

U.S Government, 55 with 30 years behind ya. Again unless they are offering early outs. The you can come out at 50 with 20 years.

depends on your savings and what standard of living you would like to retire into.

hobos retire into a life of homelessness and drinking at any age.
yet some people work well into their 80s because, well, they love their job.
