I think so.
And I think they should be doing so.
And they have every right and responsibility to do so.

Because this scandal is about Bush/GOP POLITICIZING AMERICAN JUSTICE by requiring US Attorneys to carry out unjustified legal persecutions of numerous Democrat campaign opponents prior to the elections;
and punishing them when they refused to do so.

And the GOPs know it was illegal which is why they tried to cover it up and now aids are "taking the 5th.".

In addition, it is becoming obvious that the GOP used public facilities and money to advance political goals which is also against the law.

That the Democrats happen to lead the government committees required by law to investigate such questionable activities is the result of the people's vote in 2006.

Its a legal/political issue and that nature cannot be erased from it.

Yes and they should. Gonzales lied, claiming he wasn't involved but he was on one of the e-mails and he made the decisions.

Republican Congressmen went to the white house asking for an investigation regarding Democrats. What kind of back door back stabbing is that. It is one thing to be political but this last Republican administration has to be the most corrupt in history, and are even asking for investigations! That is a crime and it is not the proper channel. No wonder they want to do it in secret, no oaths.

Republicans have absolutely no shame and they will do ANYTHING to get Democrats! I hope they find out who the people in congress were.

Gonzales should be fired. He should have walked out of that room when any of this came up!

even priests steal from the collection plate sometimes. Yes the democrats need to hound the opposition for any wrong doing, especially illegal acts....The same goes for Republicans hounding Democrats...it's the only checks and balances there is...if the Republicans can stoop to making a person in a traitor who actually served his country (swift boats) in a very low partisan smear job, what's so wrong about actually looking for wrongdoings that are happening right now...I am a Democrat and if someone in my party is a thief or a liar, I want him exposed and if he did something illegal...jailed...I expect the Republican to seek out Democrat wrongdoers, but if they are in charge of the justice department, they need to appear as if their justice is blind.

It's very funny to hear Bush cry foul at Democrat partisanship...when his own self-serving partisanship is at the heart of the matter. Being president isn't about tearing the others down (remember Nixon's dark plans?)

I agree. The GOP liked the outcome of their cheating in 2000 and got away with it again in 2004.
The Democrats will hopefully address this issue in Congress before long. Forget the paperless machines. No machine if they can not make them fool proof or Hove proof!

Think back a few years. Mr. Clinton and Janet Reno did the same thing. Fired a whole bunch of judges for no reason other then they just might have belonged to the wrong party.

Grow up it happens on both sides.
