For me, I find it hard difficult to answer, or that I always hesitantly answer to this question, 'what do you do for a living?' I am an honest person, but most of the time I have to think twice what answer should I give to this question.
I feel that we confidently ask question or bring about a question without any reservations when the answer is perfectly related to us, in other words, we try not to bring out a question that which is not so becoming to us, we cover it actually.
I agree with Lord Z, and Old dog. Obviously we would not ask a question relating to our weaknesses or failures, nor want to answer it if it is being asked of us. On the other hand, we will ask a question confidently, when we know we excel on that area.
I haven't gotten to the point for the last 4 years wherein my career has reached it's zenith, for unavoidable reasons. But I know i'll get there back again soon.

I agree with you.
But it is an unavoidable circumstances, 2 out of 3 that you cannot prevent others from asking you anyway, personal or not.
