Examine your own motives for wanting to be a doctor.
If you have the grades , and the money to get through med school, and the personality, then you will be fine.
Maintain a balance in your life, show interests in other things, involve yourself with the community, develop communication skills, show ability to sustain yourself through crises and hard times. That is the doctor personality and they will look for that in med school.
You dont want to be the first to faint when all the wounded are wheeled through the door. Lol.
You will be ok, As time passes and you are in med school, your will learn how to become one. Questioning your own strength of character now is a sure sign of maturity.

Don't worry. Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right. So just think positively and believe that you can.
Also, "not everyone can be a doctor" is a true statement. But "not everyone" can be interpreted variedly, from 1 failure out of a 100 med students, to 1 failure out of a billion med students.
I suggest that you do a little research to see how many med students who actually failed to become a doctor in the past 5-10 years. Then see if you can profile those who failed. Does your profile match theirs? If not, then why worry?
Here's a link that might give you further insight into becoming a doctor:

Good luck!

Well, certainly not everyone is suited to be a doctor. But nowadays there are so many specialties available for those in the medical field that if you have the heart and determination, you should be able to find something you're suited for.
My niece took pre-med with the intention of becoming an M.D., but she changed her mind halfway through and is now pursuing a career in psychology.
I know a guy that treats nothing but hands..not even wrists. Just hands.
Another doctor I know treats nothing but feet.

help with what??? your school work, your studies??? was it a professor who said not everyone can become a doctor? his??? was it a student counselor? if you are in pre-med, you are there for a reason, you are driven and you have the heart, passion, and desire to become a doctor; if you really want to be a doctor so 'badly', then this should just give you added motivation, added fire for your drive... truthfully, a lot of boys out on the playgrounds want to be NBA players very bad; ask any NBA player and they will tell you it takes a lot more than talent to make it into the league... lead with your heart, and follow with the great brains that GOD gave you... pre-med, you're a genius in my books. good luck... study hard and your dreams will come true.

You're kidding, right? Someone says "not everyone can become a doctor" and THAT shakes your self-confidence?
Well not everyone can be a firefighter or a hair stylist or a race car driver or a topless dancer either. So what?
I guess the point here is that you should never listen to people who tell you what you can't do. Ignore them. You know what you want to do, so go for it.
Surprisingly, one of the biggest sources of pessimistic advice comes from our friends and family. Be prepared for that and try not to let it deter you from your goals.
For god's sake, you're in pre-med ... you must be doing something right!

That person was an idiot. Since he's a loser, he's hoping to drag you down with him. My father told me he didn't think I could handle a university (high-school dropout). My brother told me the school I picked was too tough for me. Cousins told me I should just try to get a job with the skills from the military.
Point is, no matter what lofty goals you have planned, somebody will always want to drag you down, even those that love you and think they are looking out for you. I believed in myself and you should do the same. You have to want to be a doctor. Not "want" like the way you want a cheeseburger. No, the kind of wanting and yearning that keeps you awake at night. The kind of want that will not go away until you accomplish your goal and shut all the naysayers up. The kind of want that will not settle for less. I graduated Summa CumLaude with a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Management with a PERFECT 4.0 GPA. I was a dropout....
You should do fine.

Jump in with both feet. Tell yourself- "I want to do this," then when that voice of self doubt hits and it won't shut up - then you need to get out.
Become an EMT, a nurse or something else, work into being an MD. Try from a different direction.

Don't listen to people. There are people in the world who have to put others down to make themselves feel better. I'm sure this person feels he/she could not make it as a doctor or another professional and by crushing someone else's dreams, make him/her feel superior.
Ignore them and go for it!
Rude people need to just keep their mouths shut and opinions in their own sick heads. To all the rude people, your opinions are not valued, nor is your presence. So keep to yourselves until you can work through your own issues!
