No. It's pretty much a myth unless you have been sitting home doing embroidery your whole life! These days most girls are so active there is nothing left to worry about. Did you know the hymen is an external closure of the vagina? If you've ever used a tampon or played any sports the tiny tissue thin hymen was torn long, long ago. The only reason sex ever hurts is if you are not ready and sufficiently in the mood. Or if your bf is very young and impatient and doesn't bother helping to get you in the mood. What hurts is him shoving past the muscle which can be even tighter if you're nervous or tense. Again if you've ever used a tampon you know where that muscle is because sometimes if you're in a hurry it's hard to get the tampon it. DO not worry so much about sex. If you're worried about it it's a sure sign you're not ready to go that far. Wait until you want to and you feel good about it.

There may be a little blood, but it shouldn't be "a lot". Not all women bleed when they have sex for the first time--some women are born without hymens, some have already torn from playing sports or other physical activities, and some simply don't bleed. If you/your partner seems to be bleeding significantly, you should get medical attention.

no, most girl really don't even bleed, your cherry cant be popped so easily it usually happens before you have sex, masturbation which every girl has done admitted or not placing a tampon in, getting a pap done falling sometimes, if it does happen to break during a first sexual experience it is 99% of the time dime size

no not very much if at all. the bleeding comes from the hymen breaking-if you have been to a gyno, used tampons, masturbated vaginally, or spent alot of time riding a bike you may have already broken it yourself without knowing it. when it does break there is very little blood.

You can, I did. It has a lot to do with the size of your partner how much you bleed.

most girls hymens break before they have sex. You just never really hear about girls who don't bleed because that's not really 'newsworthy' like bleeding is, even though not bleeding is actually more common.
