I live South Africa. the crime here is ridiculous, but in other african countries it is far worse. They say that certain wars have ended, but they still rage on under the cover of governmental lies and corruption. Black run states in Africa know nothing but chaos and bloodshed, of their own people eg. Sierra Leone, Congo, Angola and many others.

It won't reach 'our' shores because we don't have the problems Africa has. African governments are horrendously corrupt. International aid organizations need to stop giving aid money to the countries' governments and just give it to the people themselves. Africa needs education (especially health education) medical supplies, and food. AIDS and disease is destroying Africa.

If you're in America, though, you can legitemately say it's 'not our problem'. The UK, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands should be taking some of the blame, and they do.

I am an African born and living in South Africa and it hurts me every time I watch the news.
Sometimes I feel we are cursed.
You see the problem is that we have these so called Revolutionary Armies that kill their own country men, like that guy in Congo he lost an election so he does not want to disarm his stupid rebels and now violence started again.

So people blame some western counties for causing the violence which has an element of truth in it because Mark Thatcher(Margret Thatcher's son) was arrested in South Africa for sending mercenaries to an oil rich small country called Equatorial Guinea and South Africa let him go with a slap on the wrist.

But I feel blaming the west is just passing the bark we as Africans need to try and block all arms going into Africa and bring down the rebels.

Child soldier what are we going to do with those little guy because they are killing machines, that is all they know their whole lives that explains the violence.

I don't know how we can solve the problems we have my, but I am not losing hope we will come right one day.

Its not nice being a charity case all the time.

that's violent, they are no longer dealing with a conflict the two like Baghdad is. The homicide cost in Washington DC is exceptionally intense too. It had 262 murders in a 300 and sixty 5 days with a inhabitants of 600,000. the U. S. is meant to be a civilized usa yet nevertheless has a extensive issue with violence. the place as S Africa is in an extremely violent and adverse continent. i ask your self what the homicide cost there is whilst in comparison with different African countries. could be via fact that's the final out of a bad bunch they play it down slightly. In 2005/06 the homicide cost interior the united kingdom replaced into 756 and we've fifty two million human beings right here, Washington is in simple terms in simple terms over a million/2 million. via a thank you to the submit above me, he reported South Africa, that's a rustic. My God! 22,000 murders in one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, that's dreadful. It makes me grateful that I stay in this way of non violent usa, human beings ***** bearing directly to the government yet we've between the final standards of residing interior the international! The South African government must be ashamed, i in my opinion concept Zimbabwe could be worse.

Africa is no more violent than any other part of the world. the only difference is that U.N. doesn't really care about it. If there is a war in any part of Europe and the troops come in and quiet it down. Africa has a war and its allowed to cause endless massacres. Rwanda was just allowed to happen. America only cares if the precious oil is endangered.

Poverty lurks beneath many of the problems of the World. And let's face it, Africa is not only the "darkest" continent, but it's the poorest- too.
