Here is a DON'T!
Don't go on the internet and type in "book publishing" or "novel publishers"
When you do that all you get are Vanity presses on the first pages and, though they claim they will publish your work, most of them are not out to help you but to line their own pockets at your expense!
OK. enough said about that.
If you are really serious about your writing and want it published go to the library and read a reference book called "Writers Market." It is updated and published every year and contains thousands of markets for any genre.
If your mind gets boggled by all the "markets" in Writer's Market, try going to http://www.absolutewrite.com.
The above site's editor-in-chief is MacAllister Stone. All the articles in their newsletter are written by published authors. One in particular you will want to pay attention to Is Jenna Glatzer, author of "Writer Mama."
I believe that if you request Jenna's article, Finding a Book Publisher," from the site's newsletter they would forward it to your e-mail. You may have to subscribe to the newsletter but that is no big deal and, being one myself, I know for a fact that there are many good tips and articles for aspiring writers.
Good Luck with your writing and, as MacAllister Stone says, "Write hard. Write true. And Write on!

Nobody "caters" to aspiring writings. Publisher are not interested in catering. Many publishers are interested in working with new writers, however.

Why did I make that differentiation? Because as a writer you should know that WORDS HAVE POWER. And the words you chose indicate your perspective. Think about the actual implications of the word "cater" and ask yourself if it was the best word to use.

If you are interesting in being published, you must learn how to research. For example, by typing "book publishing" in the Search function at YA, you will discover about one million and forty other questions that have already been answered on this topic. Writing requires initiative and drive. Demonstrate that by performing at least a cursory search before asking for help. Why make people recreate the wheel?

I suggest getting subscriptions to Writer's Digest, The Writer, or Poets & Writers. All of these publications are full of wonderful articles on the industry, as well as dozens of new markets each month interested in working with writers.

First, you write the book. I know it sounds like an obvious first step but many aspiring authors forget that no one will buy fiction from an unproven author unless the manuscript is complete. And, by complete, I mean written and repeatedly editted until it is as good as you can make it.

Then, you get an agent. This is the tricky part.

Pick up a copy of "Writer's Market" or "Guide to Literary Agents", hunt through Agent Query, and put your Google skills to use to dig up as much information as you can on agents who represent the kinds of things that you write. There is tons of information out there! Read these two sites thoroughly (especially Miss Snark-- wonderful site):
http://www.agentquery.com/
http://misssnark.blogspot.com/

If you can get a subscription to Publisher's Marketplace, do it! Even if it is only for a month:
http://www.publishersmarketplace.com

You will get many rejection letters. Every writer has! Make sure to focus your search only on agents that represent the genre that you write or it will be a waste of time to query them. Learn to write a brilliant query letter (you never want to send an unsolicited manuscript!)

Keep writing and revising while you work at this. Good luck!

If you'll convince a writer to take your paintings then it does not rate you some thing. They pay you royalties, however be warned they're really low possibly beneath 20p consistent with replica bought. It might support to uncover a literary agent, who a minimum of might deliver you a few feed again for your paintings. You can publish to publishers straight. Either method be all set for plenty of rejections. Any writer who desires cash from you to submit a guide is an arrogance writer. These persons submit books nobody might contact traditionally, however the creator desires released besides. Nowadays the following alternative is far greater... Print on call for is in which you submit the guide your self and persons can order a duplicate which is outlined and despatched to them. If you've an ISBN then it may be bought in guide shops. Have appear at websites like Lulu and Lightning Source. You might promote the guide to guide shops for approximately part the quilt cost. The guide expenditures a specified quantity to print. You upload on slightly extra (that is your benefit). Double it. If you're now not promoting it at rate then the print on call for persons take a percent of the complete rate, so upload that on. That offers you your sale cost. Alternatively preclude paper altogether and simply promote digital models as e.g. PDFs. Being an creator isn't a top earnings career except you're one of the crucial only a few to grow to be a bestseller. You generally will have to get your self one more task to help your self meanwhile.
