...and that principles and morals are negotiable in the quest for money and material benefits?

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being the most principled, and 10 being the most money minded, where would you place yourself? Answer honestly. If you feel you don't want to reveal this in your normal avatar, create a new one, but give me an honest answer.

Since I asked this, I think I need to answer it too. A few years back, I would have given myself a score of 3 or 4. Today, I think I would rate myself 7 or 8. I'm not very proud to say it, but I have had to let my principles go by at times.

I'd have to rate myself at a 2 or low 3. I'm not willing to harm or take advantage of someone for money. I'd love to be a 10, but I wouldn't be able to live with myself. And I work in sales - ha! But my customers love me because I'm as helpful as I can be and sincerely want to help them and they respond to that.
I have been car shopping recently and can't stand the way the sales people behave, it makes me actually feel ill to see it!

I'm about a 6. I try to go by my morals within the bounds of what I can afford to do. Some things have to be paid for so they take a priority. I have more than enough money at my needs (rich boyfriend, one perk to dating him) but I don't abuse it. My principles are always in the back of my mind weighing in on what I do. My scaling has gotten better as I've gotten older, I was extremely materialistic and concerned about what I could buy. Now I try to save and just have fun window shopping. In no way am I afraid to answer this, it's a good question.

*I'm only 18, still growing and maturing so my scaling should be better yet. I was at around 12 on the scale when I was 13 years old. Looking back I feel horrible for how I demanded from my parents.*

I'd say 3. I used to care more about material posessions, but I've been humbled by personal events & I'm actually happier now. I never cared much about money per se,I never noticed what people drove, etc, but I am a 3rd generation "pack rat" & had a lot of antiques, jewelry, etc, which I no longer have. Nor my house. I'm renting a smaller house & I'm OK. I'm getting rid of what I still have, but slowly. Pack rat is a hard habit to break.

Honestly, I feel that I could live happily with no money at all if I had to, but since I don't have to...I don't. I guess I'm prolly a 4...

I am about a 3,,, that is why I can not make it in Business, and I have no good experiences with American business owners. You do have to lie and cheat and stab everyone in the back to make it in American business. I know this to be true, and I have found no-one to prove me wrong.

8. People say it isn't true, but I'm a firm believer that money does, in fact, buy happiness.
