You can buy a finished complete Nascar modified, Bush, Craftsman Truck or Nextel motor from any team out there. Plan to spend $85, - $1000.000 for a top shelf "winning horse." Joe Gibbs, DEI, Childress, Hendrick, Yates and Ganassi. They'll all sell these motors to any one with deep pockets.

After you buy the motor you'll need a carburetor, dry sump oil pump plus the oil tank.

As other people have said these motors are overhauled after one race. All internal parts are tossed. If there lucky, the basic block crankshaft and rods might be saved. Not at all useful for anything but racing.

If you want a motor with street horsepower your local Chevrolet dealer will sell you a complete carbonated ZO6 Corvette 505 hp. engine for under $15.000 With a two year 24,000 mile warranty. Buy a GM Performance Performance Parts 2007 Catalog from your Chevrolet dealer. They have a complete 572 cu.in 725 hp. motor for under $18,000.

Throughout the USA Sprint Car engine builders such as Bob Kriner, Don Ott, Kisler or Steve Kinser build fuel injected 410 ci. alcohol motors that produce an excess of 900 hp. Again unsuitable for street use.

Have a racing engine builder put together a motor specifically for your use. They "blue print" every part for your intended usage.

Depends on what you are putting it in. You have to go by emission laws for the year of the car (or truck) you are putting it in. So something from the 60's, yea. But in a newer car, no, not without adding everything needed to pass the sniffer when getting it inspected. Of course this all differs from state to state, so check your local regulations. Also, a small block with a 5000 rev limit????? Small blocks are made for higher RPMs. Anywhere from 7500-9000 depending on the cam your using. Heck, even well built big blocks don't red line until 6500. Small block make best HP and torque after 5000 RPMs, big blocks start to create power and torque at much lower RPM. And NASCAR engines use 94 octane, found at alot of places near me. But you can always add octane boost if you can only fine 92.

Those engines run on racing gas, which you cannot legally use on the street, so why bother?

Also, they are pretty well used up after a race is over, so again, why bother?

P.S. the guy said USED, not new guys.
