Buy a Nintendo DS. It works wonders on keeping you awake while driving.

Alright I do know one trick if youre traveling cross-country: take lots of rests. Truck stops are a must if you need to sleep, the truckers are pretty protective of other people that are traveling cross-country, so if you get hasseled theyll most likely help you out. Not only that but they're lighted. When youre taking breaks from driving take short walks. Also, never travel alone. For 2 reasons: 1) trade outs. 2) safety, just in case your car happens to break down. For short distances, avoid it at all costs! Trust me, Ive stayed the night at several of my friends house cuz I was too tired. Of course, all of my friends are like my family so theyre used to it. Hope that helped

Keep the window cracked,,keep it cold ,,loud radio,,drink a caffeine drink.
Home safely is most important,,so pull over stretch out walk a bit and start again.
Don't drive,,get a sober friend to drive you,,or take a taxi,,
arrange plans to get home before you even go out.
Take care and be safe.

I am an ICU nurse who sees a lot of trauma and I would say you were better off not taking a trip where you were that tired and if worse comes to worse better to stop in the middle of no where and take a nap than to end up wrapped around a tree.

For mild sleepiness, chew gum constantly, and sing aloud. If it's more than mild, stop and walk around, get a hot drink if you can, splash water on your face. If it's a long drive, get a hotel and snooze.

Inconvenient or not, it's better than falling asleep and dying or killing someone else.

If your barely keeping your eyes open and your that tired ,
"PULL OVER" ,MY ONLY SON MAY BE DRIVING ON THAT ROAD ALSO.
I'd like both , you and him to make it home alive.
There is always a place to stop.

obviously what ever you done in the past has worked. Try not being in a hurry to leave and try a short brisk walk before driving.
