Start with Aristotle's "Nicomachean Ethics." Use bait appropriate for the type of fish you're trying to catch. Wait patiently. Wait some more. Fall asleep on the shore waiting. Finally, drive to McDonalds for a Filet-o-Fish sandwich.

i don't know. maybe its the process of "catching the fish" that is exciting. wake up early, putting bait on the line, tossing it out there, and waiting. And then reeling it in against its own resistance and then netting it. But once you have the fish, you dread even having to cut it open and gutting it and then cooking it when you're too tired to even cook after a whole day of fishing. So, i don't know. Maybe happiness is in the process of "catching the fish."

if that's what you meant...

No ! happiness can't be caught ! catching fish is the result of ones act of fishing. Happiness or sorrow is the bridge between act and result and an an perfect person would always move forward according to the result, of his act, to succeed in life.

I don't think so, other wise after one caught the fish either one would be happy for ever (which is pretty impossible) or it would soon loose it (the fish would die). Picking your metaphor i'd describe hapiness as the fisherman's atittude: the patience and acceptence towards what might bite the hook or not, in harmony with the fishing gear and skills developed.

The fish of happiness is one I catch thousands of times every day. Guess I am a good fisherman. Its easy though when you fill your life with simple joys.

Happiness is not something that can truly be caught.
Happiness is something that will come to you if you let it.

The wise man is happy while he has nothing. The fool is unhappy while surrounded by riches and wealth.

Happiness is peace. Happiness is love.

So, to answer your question, happiness is a fish that swims up to you willingly when you feed it, with no hooks or barbs hidden in the food that is given.

So you like dating freshmen.

I think of happiness as a fish you never get tired of trying to catch and should you succeed you always let it go so you can catch it again. maybe it will be bigger the next time you catch it.
