not really. there is so much that is given freely. and God favours mercy over sacrifice. we live in a universe of unfathomable abundance. don't impoverish it by trying to establish an imaginary equal sign.

There's an economic term called "opportunity costs". It can be generally understood as whenever there is a choice made, something else has to be given up whether in terms of time or resources.

While sacrifice does not always result in achievement, some sacrifice is definite in the process. The only difference is the magnitude of the sacrifice to achieve that goal.

No I don't feel that. Though finishing school was hard cause I had to 'move away' from riding, and years of surfing have not put me in a good place professionally, and I'm still fixing/stretching my back(I stopped 3 yrs ago).
So there are conseq., i guess you could say sacrifice, but not for every acheivment !!!
Sometimes there are a lot of 'freebies' and you just don't see them. There are a lot of acheivments that need no sacrifice.
If I had not done all the schooling I would be living off my surfing, if I had not surfed I might have a good job.....

I believe it is true of every achievement of true value.

Achieving someting of value always takes time and effort. These are truly limited resources in our short lifetimes, when we put time and effort into one "project" we always sacrifice something. Even if it is merely free time and relaxation.
