well, if you live on a military base, you get power outages all the time! some last a min up to hours and days. our longest was when hurricane isabel came thru 3-4 days i believe. it was fun thoug, cause we all cooked out on BBQ grills for days!!!! coolers were awesome!

about 6 hours and it was not from a storm but from 115 degree weather that burned out a transformer. That was one hell of a hot night. I had a baby on an apnea monitor and I had battery back up for the monitor but it was so hot that he sweat so much the leads kept coming off his chest. Needless to say I spent the night with a candle watching my baby breathe.

Three days during a blizzard in may, about three feet of heavy wet snow dumped on us. The phone stopped working after about 8 hours. No heat in the house and it felt cold. Luckily we had a fondue pot with plenty of fuel to make coffee, hot chocolate, and soups.
